People often ask questions about hypnotherapy, as they seem to confuse stage hypnosis with therapeutic hypnosis.
Stage acts that use stage hypnosis can make people cluck like a chicken and look silly for the purpose of entertainment; this would never be done during a healing hypno-therapy session. (someone who does this always has a choice, by the way; if they really didn’t want to cluck like a chicken, they would not do it).
You are always alert enough to stop the session at any time.
Hypnotherapy is not dangerous at all, but it is wise not to drive for at least 45 minutes after a session, as you may still be a little too relaxed.
Contrary to popular belief, everyone on the planet has been in a state of hypnosis at some point in their daily life; whether driving on the motorway and having a time warp kind of feeling when an hour has just flown by and you can’t remember it, or watching TV and you drift off somewhere else, even though you are awake.
It also happens in the gym while running for example.
This is referred to as being in the zone; it happens with hobbies or creative expression.
It’s also known as flow or being in the flow. When we enter the flow state, we are entering another state of consciousness, one that is relaxed and a bit distant where our brain frequency is slower.
This is where we are open to altering the programs, patterns and beliefs held in our subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind is the part of us that is in control of most of our behaviour, our reactions to the world around us, our beliefs due to conditioning and experiences throughout our lives, and even in past lives too.
Though in truth, there are only parallel lives.
When entering a relaxed state of consciousness, it makes it easier to change what we sometimes routinely think and feel; the things that we want to release from our subconscious mind are referred to as blocks.
These mental and emotional blocks are typically false and inaccurate beliefs that can cause us problems by holding us in poverty consciousness, in fear, in low self-esteem, emotionally stuck, or in poor health, and not reaching our true potential – the list goes on.
In a relaxed state of therapeutic hypnosis, we are able to access and remove these belief patterns and replace them with something that works to our advantage, by helping us move forward and develop a new positive mindset.
Your mind creates your reality.
Are you pleased with what you are creating?
